Over 280 thsd tons of grain were sent from Ukraine to countries with food crises within the framework of the UN program
As of the end of March 2025, the Grain from Ukraine humanitarian initiative has delivered more than 280,000 tons of food to countries facing food crises. Recent deliveries include wheat flour and oil to regions with high levels of food insecurity.
For example, on March 10, a ship with 415.9 tons of oil arrived in Mozambique. Also, on February 27, an important delivery of 4,400 tons of wheat flour to Syria was completed. According to WFP, this shipment will help provide bread to more than 59,000 Syrians for six months.
The goal of the program is to deliver Ukrainian food to the most vulnerable countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East with the financial support of donor countries and in coordination with the UN World Food Programme (WFP).
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
