Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented in the Government of the structure of sown areas of 2025. According to A. Saparov, this year will continue to diversify sowing in accordance with the Roadmap approved last year to increase gross agricultural output by 2 times. The area of highly profitable crops will also increase.
The area of oilseeds will grow by 365,000 hectares to 3.3 million hectares, which, as noted, will allow to load processing plants. Of these, sunflower is planned to be sown on 1.3 million hectares, flax – 1 million hectares, safflower – 421.5 thousand hectares, rape – 178.6 thousand hectares, soybean – 94.3 thousand hectares, mustard – 32.4 thousand hectares.
The measures taken will allow to optimize the structure of crops and reduce risks associated with fluctuations in prices for agricultural products. Currently, oilseeds and legumes are in demand both in domestic and foreign markets, and their prices are at a stable high level, which increases the profitability of agribusiness, the minister said
The total sown area will amount to 23.8 million hectares. Cereals and cereals will occupy 16.6 million hectares, of which wheat – 13 million hectares.
Last year, the sunflower harvest in Kazakhstan reached a record 1.83 million tons. The total yield of oilseeds exceeded last year’s by 52%.
