Flour exports from Ukraine are more than 1.5 times higher than last year’s

Since the start of the MY 2026/27, as of August 21, Ukraine has exported 3.284 mln tons of grains and pulses. This is 106 thsd tons, or around 3%, below the volume shipped during the same period last season, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

Wheat exports since the beginning of the season totaled 1.412 mln tons, down 622 thsd tons, or about 1.5 times year-on-year. Barley shipments decreased by 144 thsd tons to 360 thsd tons, while rye exports amounted to just 0.2 thsd tons.

Corn exports, however, showed the opposite trend. Ukraine has already shipped 1.452 mln tons of corn, up 606 thsd tons, or 1.7 times compared with the same date last year.

Exports of processed products also increased significantly. Since the start of the MY 2026/27, Ukraine has exported 12.4 thsd tons of flour, up 4.7 thsd tons, or 1.6 times year-on-year. In grain equivalent, the volume totaled 16.5 thsd tons.

Thus, Ukraine’s overall grain exports at the beginning of the new season remain close to last year’s level, but their structure has changed significantly: lower wheat and barley shipments are being offset by stronger corn exports, while flour exports are more than 1.5 times higher than a year ago.
