Moldova canceled phytosanitary inspections of Ukrainian grain in transit to Romanian ports
Ukrainian grain transiting through Moldova will be exempt from inspection by the National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA). This decision was made by the Parliament at a meeting on July 11, NewsMaker reports.
The document refers to a temporary waiver of the application of the law “On Plant Protection and Phytosanitary Quarantine” to Ukrainian grain transiting through Moldova to the ports of Reni and Galati (Romania), including by rail. This concession will be valid until September 14.
“This type of goods crosses the territory of our country in specialized vehicles, so the risk of importing quarantine organisms is low. In case of any incidents with transport or cargo during its transit through Moldova, carriers must notify ANSA within two hours,” the parliamentary press release said.
According to the author of this legislative initiative, the adoption of the draft law will solve the problem of transit of goods of non-animal origin and congestion on the Moldovan border due to the increased flow of goods from Ukraine.
