Kazakhstan is nearing the end of the 2025 harvest season, achieving impressive results. According to the government, grain crops have been harvested on 99% of the sown area, which is 15.8 million hectares. 6.7 million tons of grain have arrived at the grain elevators, which is twice as much as last year (3.4 million tons). More than half of this volume (54%) is third-class wheat.

Kazakhstan has reached a historical record, harvesting more than 1 million tons of pulses in 2025, exceeding the forecasts of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan for early October (0.97 million tons, of which 800 thousand tons of lentils and 155 thousand tons of peas, 15 thousand tons of other pulses) thanks to favorable weather conditions and a 2.1-fold expansion of the sown area over the past three years.

The occupancy rate of licensed grain storage facilities remains stable: 5.4 million tons (40% of capacity) are currently full, and 7.8 million tons remain free. This allows for efficient harvest acceptance without overloading elevators. However, the regions have faced a shortage of gas for drying grain. Vice Prime Minister Seryk Zhumangaryn instructed the Ministry of Energy to urgently provide additional gas volumes to avoid delays in harvest acceptance.

In addition to grains, the harvest of other crops is ongoing: corn has been harvested on 134 thousand hectares (77% of the plan), oilseed crops – on 74% of the area (3.5 million tons). The harvest of potatoes (3 million tons), vegetables (3.9 million tons) and melon crops (2.6 million tons) has been completed. In Zhetysu, sugar factories have begun receiving beets, having collected 154 thousand tons. An electronic queue has been introduced at the Aksu Kant plant, which has significantly accelerated the process.

The success of the harvest is largely due to the timely application of fertilizers and early financing of spring field work. Of the 700 billion tenge allocated for the sowing season, 502 billion have been used. The Agrarian Credit Corporation has already started accepting applications for preferential financing for the 2026 sowing season. In addition, 250 billion tenge has been allocated for leasing agricultural machinery, and the demand from farmers has exceeded this amount, which will allow updating the fleet of machinery by 8 thousand units.

Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
