Kazakh traders gain access to feed flour exports to China
Kazakh traders have been granted the right to export feed flour to China under new conditions. Deliveries can now be carried out not only by manufacturers but also by trading companies, provided that the products are made at facilities included in the official register of the General Administration of Customs of China.
Previously, China tightened its requirements for Kazakh suppliers, effectively limiting market access to manufacturers only. However, following negotiations between the authorized bodies of both countries, the list of eligible exporters has been expanded, creating new opportunities for businesses and improving supply chain flexibility.
According to Kazakhstan’s State Inspection Committee in the agro-industrial sector, the key requirement remains the origin of the products. Feed flour must be produced exclusively at enterprises accredited in the Chinese register; otherwise, exports will not be permitted.
At the same time, export controls are being strengthened. Regional inspections have been instructed to carefully monitor shipments to prevent risks of returns or export bans. In particular, China strictly prohibits the import of feed mixtures made from foreign, including Russian, raw materials if they are declared as Kazakh products.
According to analysts from the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, in the MY 2025/26 the country has already reached a record level of feed flour exports — over 2.15 million tons from September to March, more than double the figure for the same period last year. More than 99% of these exports were shipped to China, highlighting the strategic importance of this market for Kazakhstan.
