Indonesia strengthens its position in the global veterinary vaccine market
Indonesia is preparing to expand veterinary vaccine exports after its Center for Veterinary Drug Quality Testing and Certification, BBPMSOH, was granted ASEAN reference laboratory status. The recognition confirms that the country’s testing system meets international standards and is expected to make it easier for local producers to enter overseas markets.
In January–July 2026, Indonesia exported veterinary products to 90 countries. Total shipments reached 32.08 thsd tons worth $66.37 mln.
The government continues to support domestic production of veterinary medicines and help producers comply with international requirements. Wider recognition of Indonesia’s testing and certification system is expected to strengthen confidence in locally produced vaccines in global markets.
Africa has emerged as one of the new export destinations. Vaksindo Satwa Nusantara has started supplying veterinary vaccines to Zambia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Malawi.
The first shipment included 10 poultry vaccines designed to prevent and control major poultry diseases. The expansion of export destinations could strengthen Indonesia’s position in the international veterinary pharmaceutical market, particularly in the poultry segment.
