Honey exports will bring Ukraine $100 mln in 2025
Honey exports from Ukraine to the EU this calendar year will amount to about 40 thousand tons, which will bring in $100 million. This was facilitated by the increase in duty-free quotas.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky said this during the “Honey Forum 2025”.
“In the context of honey, the European Union has gone along with it, in fact, beekeepers can calculate an additional 17%. There will be a discussion on pesticides during the negotiations on joining the EU: farmers want to leave everything as it is, but transformation is needed. It is important to update the legislation, this will contribute to increasing honey production,” Taras Vysotsky emphasized.
Almost every farmer in Ukraine has an apiary, but to develop business, it is necessary to focus on local tastes, emphasized the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, Hennadiy Chyzhykov.
“As with French wines, we should think about regionalization: honey from Slobozhanshchyna, Lviv region. Ukraine is delicious, we need to show it and sell regionalization,” he explained.
