Farmers in 7 regions of Ukraine have started sowing sunflower
As of April 6, sowing of spring crops has started in all regions controlled by Ukraine. As of the reporting date, 828.3 thousand hectares (14% of the projected area) of grain and leguminous crops were sown. Industrial crops were sown on 60.7 thousand hectares.
In particular, the following grains were sown:
- wheat — 111.1 thousand hectares (60%);
- barley — 420.9 thousand hectares (56%);
- peas — 186.1 thousand hectares (68%);
- oats — 86.5 thousand hectares (63%).
In addition, sunflower is already being sown by farmers in 7 regions — Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Sumy and Ternopil. As of the reporting date, 18.3 thousand hectares were sown.
Farmers did not sow soybeans during the week. The first 0.05 thousand hectares were sown in the Lviv region earlier.
Sugar beets were sown on an area of 42.3 thousand hectares. Sowing of sweet roots started in Volyn, Vinnytsia, Lviv, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions.
