Chickpea exports from Ukraine down 57%
Ukraine exported 3.95 KMT of chickpeas in September – December 2021/22. This is 56.6% less than a year earlier and the lowest volume in three years, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The period under review witnessed a rise in shipments to traditional markets such as Saudi Arabia, Libya and Moldova.
The following countries reduced imports: Pakistan (-88%), Turkey (-70%), Jordan (-70%), Israel (-4%).
This season featured the first ever deliveries of Ukrainian chickpeas to Thailand and Taiwan.
