Bulgarian factories buy sunflower seeds at $70 more expensive than in Ukraine
The market for sunflower seeds and its processed products remains inactive at the moment. At the same time, the stabilization of sea logistics gives market participants confidence in the sale of processed products, which over time may stimulate more aggressive purchases of sunflower, Spike Brokers reports.
Currently, the price of sunseed without VAT with delivery to factories in central Ukraine is $ 550-560 / t in equivalent, while factories in Bulgaria are already purchasing sunflower at prices of $ 620-630 / t, which looks attractive taking into account the cost of logistics.
“The increase in energy prices in Ukraine remains a key factor in the growth of the cost of sunflower processing, which in the current season will limit the purchase prices of processing plants,” the brokers note.
The spot price index for sunflower seeds with delivery for processing within 30 days decreased by $ 4 with VAT – to $ 642.
