Planted area: (-5% y/y, driven by reduced farmer sunflower seed margins in 2022).

Yield: (-12%).

Production: (-16% y/y).

2023/24 MY Summary:

• Sunflower seed exports: (-15% y/y).
• Sunflower seed imports: (-13%).
• Sunflower oil exports: (-12%).
• Sunflower oil imports: (+3%).

Bulgarian market, 2024/25 MY:

Adverse weather across the Black Sea region led to repeated downward revisions of production forecasts. Despite increased area, yields are projected at their lowest since 2008/09 MY.

 December UkrAgroConsult forecast:

Planted area: (+6% y/y).

Yield: (-23%).

Production: (-18%, the lowest since 2013/14 MY).
