Australian barley exports could grow by 10% in 2025/26
In the 2025/26 season, Australia’s gross barley harvest may increase to 14.554 million tonnes, up 9.7% from the current season ending in October, according to a report by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural Resources and Economics (ABARE).
Barley exports in volume terms may increase to 24.5 million tonnes, up 4.6%, and in value terms to AUD 3.133 billion, up 1.4%. World barley prices will be under pressure from increased global barley and corn supplies. China will remain the largest buyer of Australian barley.
