Argentina’s soybean crush in August hits a 10-year high
Argentina’s soybean crush reached its highest level for August in a decade in 2026. According to the country’s Ministry of Economy and Agriculture, processing volumes increased by 8.8% compared with August last year.
Argentine processors crushed about 4.3 mln tons of soybeans during the month. This was around 344 thsd tons more than in August 2025, when soybean processing totaled about 3.9 mln tons.
The August figure was the highest for the month across the past ten seasons, covering the period from 2016/17 to MY 2025/26.
Higher crush volumes support production of soybean meal and soybean oil, which are key export products for Argentina. The country remains one of the world’s largest suppliers of processed soybean products.
Higher utilization of crushing capacity could also support strong exports of soybean meal and soybean oil in the coming months.
