USDA raises global soybean oil export forecast for 2025/26
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service has increased its global soybean oil export forecast for the 2025/26 season by 336,000 tons to 13.69 million tons.
The agency notes that the main factor was a revision to the U.S. shipment forecast—the figure was increased by 336,000 tons to 544,000 tons.
The agency also expects China to maintain its status as a net soybean oil exporter for the second consecutive year, thanks to record export volumes and a decline in import volumes.
“As recently as 2012/13, China was the world’s largest importer of soybean oil. During this period of high imports, China also became the world’s leading soybean oil producer, driven by significant investment in processing capacity,” the USDA stated in its January report.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
