US pork exports see significant growth in the Philippines
Led by significant growth in the Philippines and record-large shipments to Malaysia, US pork exports to the ASEAN region in August reached 7,130 mt, according to data released by USDA and compiled by the US Meat Export Federation (USMEF). This number is up 45% from a year ago.
Export value climbed 35% to $16.2 million. Through August, exports to the region were 12% above last year’s pace at 54,249 mt, while value increased 2% to $118.2 million.
