US meat exports supported domestic demand for corn and soybeans
US red meat exports in 2025 will provide significant economic benefits for American corn and soybean producers, according to a study by the consulting firm Juday Group, commissioned by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF).
According to the study, beef and pork exports generated $2.18 billion in market value for corn producers, with another $375 million coming from demand for DDGS (distiller’s grains). The additional benefit for soybean producers is estimated at $1 billion.
Analysts note that meat exports accounted for approximately 13.5% of the total value of a bushel of corn and 10.3% of the value of a bushel of soybeans in 2025.
According to expert estimates, beef and pork exports consumed 508.4 million bushels of corn. At an average price of $4.29 per bushel, this equates to $2.18 billion in market value.
Meat exports also generated demand for 2.68 million tonnes of DDGS, valued at nearly $375 million, at an average price of $139.82 per tonne.
In the soybean segment, pork exports were the main driver. 98.8 million bushels of soybeans, valued at approximately $1 billion, were used to produce export products, at an average price of $10.17 per bushel.
USMEF emphasizes that meat exports play a vital role not only for the US livestock sector but also for feed producers, supporting domestic demand for grain and processed products.
