Ukrainian rapeseed market shifts to new crop season
Ukraine’s rapeseed trade has effectively transitioned to the new marketing season, with market activity now largely focused on the upcoming harvest. According to analysts at Spike Brokers, early supplies of the new crop are gradually entering the market, marking a seasonal shift in trading dynamics.
Purchase prices for rapeseed on a CPT-port basis currently stand in the range of $560–570 per tonne. At the western border, prices are reported at $560–565 per tonne CPT. Market participants note that prices have stabilised after a sharp correction seen in the first half of June.
During the first 25 days of June, Ukraine exported 36,000 tonnes of rapeseed. The main export destinations include Germany, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, which remain key buyers of Ukrainian oilseed supplies.
Despite a slight decline in rapeseed futures on Euronext (MATIF), the market is gradually finding equilibrium. Traders are increasingly focused on the pace of harvesting across the European Union and early signals from the new crop, which may shape further price movements.
Meanwhile, the physical rapeseed oil market has shown stronger performance. FOB Netherlands quotations for July delivery rose to €1,285 per tonne, while August contracts increased to €1,175 per tonne, reflecting renewed demand from the European processing industry.
