Ukrainian ports handled 41% more cargo
In January-November 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 89.8 million tons of cargo, which is significantly higher than the volume achieved in the same period in 2023 (52.9 million tons).
This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
Agricultural products traditionally remain the basis of cargo traffic, with a share of 55 million tons. This result confirms the importance of ports in ensuring the export of Ukrainian grain to world markets, which contributes to strengthening food security.
November 2024 was particularly productive, with 7.5 million tons of cargo handled during the month, up 41% year-on-year.
As a reminder, almost 300 port infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of Russian missile attacks.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
