New-crop soybean purchase prices begin to emerge in Ukraine
Initial purchase prices for Ukraine’s new soybean crop have started to emerge. As of early September, buyers are mostly offering around UAH 16.5 thsd/t, according to analysts at E-ZERNO. Current prices are below the levels seen at the start of last season.
Domestic demand for soybeans remains steady. In particular, Korolivskyi Smak, MHP and Astarta-Kyiv have started purchasing soybeans at around UAH 16.5 thsd/t.
Purchase prices vary depending on logistics, the location of processing facilities and production areas. According to E-ZERNO, processors and elevators are playing a key role in the spot market this season and are generating most of the demand.
At the same time, the initial price environment remains less favorable for farmers compared with last season. At the beginning of the MY 2025/26, soybean purchase prices were at higher levels.
Further market dynamics will depend on the arrival of new-crop soybeans, processor activity and logistics conditions. For now, existing demand is supporting liquidity in the domestic market at the start of the new season.
