Ukrainian pea exports to Nepal have been unblocked
The Ukrainian Pulses and Soybean Association (UPSA), together with the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, has removed procedural barriers that had been delaying Ukrainian pea exports to Nepal.
This was reported by the association’s press service.
UPSA explained that the delay was caused by the need for additional document approvals under the phytosanitary risk analysis (PRA) procedure conducted by Nepal’s competent authority. This had effectively put timely issuance of import permits and fulfillment of Ukrainian exporters’ contracts at risk.
Thanks to the efforts of UPSA and the State Service, the issue was resolved within a short timeframe, allowing uninterrupted shipment processing to resume.
“In 2026, we are seeing a revival of Ukrainian pea exports to Nepal. This is a promising market that offers Ukrainian exporters competitive conditions and attractive price dynamics. Therefore, the swift removal of any procedural barriers is crucial for supply stability. We are grateful to the State Service for the prompt handling of the request and constructive cooperation,” said Antonina Skliarenko, President of the Ukrainian Pulses and Soybean Association.
