Ukrainian Black Sea corridor ensured export of over 52 mln tons of agricultural products
Since the launch of the Ukrainian Corridor, more than 2,900 vessels have passed through it, exporting 52.7 million tons of Ukrainian farmers’ products. This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
In total, 79.1 million tons of cargo were transported through this trade route to the countries of Africa, Asia, Europe and America.
These shipments provide world markets with the necessary volumes of food, which is critical to maintaining global food security and preventing a food crisis.
The Ukrainian corridor has become a reliable channel for the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to 50 countries, despite the challenges posed by the war.
We would like to add that as of September 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 7.1 million tons of cargo. This figure is more than twice as high as in 2023, when it was 3.4 million tons.
It should be reminded that in January-September 2024, the ports of Ukraine handled 74.2 million tons (against 41.1 million tons in 2023). At the same time, 8,630 vessels were handled, compared to 11,038 in 2023. Of this volume, a significant part of the cargo turnover – 46.3 million tons – is agricultural products, which emphasizes its importance for the national economy and exports.
