Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy resumes operations after government restructuring

Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food officially resumed full operations and public communications on July 21, the ministry’s press service announced. Public communications will continue through the ministry’s official website and Facebook page.

The ministry resumed operations exactly one year after it was dissolved on July 21, 2025. Ukraine’s parliament approved the restoration of a separate Ministry of Agrarian Policy on July 16, 2026, during the formation of the country’s new Cabinet of Ministers.

The ministry was re-established after the former Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture was split into two separate institutions — the Ministry of Economy and Ecology and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. The restructuring aims to strengthen the agricultural component of Ukraine’s European integration process.

Taras Vysotsky has been appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food. Before his appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture. He had previously been First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and, in 2024, also served as Acting Minister.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy has undergone similar institutional changes before. It was dissolved in 2019 as part of a government reform of central executive authorities, but was restored at the end of 2020 and resumed operating as a separate ministry in 2021.
