Ukraine. Very hot weather accelerated development of late heat-loving crops

Hot weather prevailed on July 18-20, with dryness in some regions but downpours, squalls (locally with hail) in most of the country. It gave way to cool weather on July 21-23.
Very hot weather accelerated development of late heat-loving crops, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Premature yellowing of lower leaves is locally reported in sunflower plants, while drying of 5-7 lower leaves is seen in hybrid corn of all planting dates.
Harvest of early crops and pulses are still in progress.
Precipitation somewhat complicated harvesting, crop lodging is observed in some areas, as well as high weed highs and spreading ear diseases – the above factors deteriorate the grain quality.
