
Ukraine: Supply and demand balances of oilseeds, vegoils and meals (September 2022)

Oilseed complex exports include mostly sunflower seed, sunflower oil, sunflower meal and soybeans.
Shipments along new logistics chains have been increasing since March 2022. August witnessed a significant rise in the export of sunflower oil, sunflower meal and soybeans, but sunflower seed shipments are in decline though remaining record high for August.
The ending stocks of sunflower seed and soybeans were reduced but remain record high.
The harvest areas are adjusted by UkrAgroConsult. The uninterrupted operation of the “grain corridor” could trigger the launch of some major vegoil producing plants located close to ports. However, there is still no talk of a complete recovery of oilseed processing to the pre-war level. The oil and meal yields from sunflower seed processing are expected to fall because large crushing plants stand idle.
