Ukraine starts exporting sugar by sea
Astarta Agro Holding is the first Ukrainian company to export sugar by sea. This is stated in the company’s statement.
“Ukrainian producers are ready to supply the countries of the Mediterranean, Middle East and Asia with high-quality sugar. Moreover, this market is not new for us, but traditional. After all, until 2022, we exported almost all of our sugar to these markets,” said Astarta’s Commercial Director Viacheslav Chuk at an industry conference in Dubai.
He noted that despite the war, Ukraine is ready to export 1 million tons of sugar.
“The proof of our readiness is the fact that Astarta was the first Ukrainian company to load and ship a vessel with 3 thousand tons of sugar to North Africa,” said Vyacheslav Chuk.
According to him, Ukrainian producers also continue to export high-quality sugar to the EU countries and hope to have free access to these markets in the future.
For reference: “Astarta is a vertically integrated agro-industrial holding company operating in Poltava, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy and Kharkiv regions.
