Ukraine sows 5.7 mln ha of winter crops

Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.7 million hectares of winter crops. Winter crops are being sown in all regions, with almost 4.7 million hectares (90%) planted. Winter rape has been sown on more than 1 million hectares.
In particular
- winter wheat – 4.1 mln ha (92%);
- winter barley – 486.1 thsd ha (76%);
- winter rye – 66 thsd ha (94%);
- winter rape – 1.05 mln ha (94%).
Agrarians in Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing of winter crops. Farmers in 12 regions have completed sowing winter rape.
Among the leaders in terms of winter grain sowing are Mykolaiv region – 503.1 thsd hectares (100.5%), Zaporizhzhia region – 100.8 thsd hectares (99.9%) and Khmelnytskyi region – 238.8 thsd hectares (99.5%).
