Ukraine. Rapeseed market under crop decline in 2024

The first half of the 2024/25 marketing year (June-December 2024) is behind, allowing summarizing the intermediate results of rapeseed market (current estimate by UkrAgroConsult).
The reduction in areas by 6% and yield by almost 8% cumulatively resulted in a nearly 20% decrease in rapeseed production compared to 2023.
The decrease corresponds to a reduction in the export potential. The 2024/25 season started with high rapeseed export rates due to early harvesting. About 86% of the export potential was shipped in the first half of the season.
Domestic rapeseed crushing is expected to halve.
Exports of rapeseed oil and meal, July-December, 2024/25
- Rapeseed oil export – (-46% y/y).
- Rapeseed meal export – (-37%).
EU countries as top export destinations.
Current UkrAgroConsult forecasts for 2025 rapeseed harvest remain unchanged.
