Ukraine may harvest more than 100M tonnes of grain and oilseeds in 2021 – Leshchenko
Ukraine may report a record harvest of more than 100 million tonnes of grain and oil-bearing crops this year, according to Roman Leshchenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
He said this at a meeting with representatives of Polish and Ukrainian investors on the investment climate in Ukraine in 2021 and plans for 2022, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“Ukraine will set a record in history. This year our state will harvest more than 100 million [tonnes of] grain and oil-bearing crops,” Leshchenko said.
Earlier reports said that in the 2021/22 marketing year as of August 25, Ukrainian farmers exported 6.488 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, which is 127 tonnes more than was exported on the same date in the 2020/21 marketing year.
