Ukraine has become one of the leaders in terms of growth in the supply of agricultural products to the EU
In January-February 2022, Ukraine came out on top in terms of growth in agricultural supplies to the European Union.
This is evidenced by data on the website of the European Commission.
Thus, EU imports from Ukraine increased the most compared to the same period last year – by 96% and reached € 1.92 billion. It is noted that imports of cereals, vegetable oils and oilseeds increased. In addition, the EU increased grain imports from Ukraine by 1.4 million tons compared to last year.
Brazil (+ 62%, € 2.19 billion), the United States (+ 18%, € 2.16 billion) and the United Kingdom (+ 75%, € 2.05 billion) became the top 3 countries from which agricultural products came to the EU.
At the same time, Ukraine remained in 14th place in the ranking of importers of agricultural goods from EU countries. Thus, in January-February, agricultural products worth € 521 million came from Europe (+ 7% compared to the same period last year).
