Ukraine. Fertilizer application will be reduced by up to 50%
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine predicts a decrease in fertilizer application by farmers by up to 50% during the spring sowing season.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, the press service of the Ministry.
“Even now we can predict the reduction of their application up to 50% of scientifically justified norms because of the rise in price. The use of cheaper technology provokes a decrease in production”, – said Vysotsky.
According to him, now it is difficult to predict the gross yields, which will greatly depend on weather and climatic conditions during the complex of field work, as well as financial and logistical support of a particular agrarian. Including the availability of seeds and fertilizers.
Taras Vysotsky noticed that the key problem for the agrarians remains the expensive logistics. Also, he said, the energy crisis has a negative impact on the agricultural sector.
