It took several weeks to export Ukraine’s daily volume of sunoil production
For 14 days, Ukraine managed to export 24 thousand tons of sunoil. In peacetime, this was a daily volume of its production in Ukraine.
This was announced by Stepan Kapshuk, General Director of Ukroliyaprom Association during the online conference “Logistics issues for Ukrainian exporters”.
“Our vegoil industry is export-oriented, as domestic consumption is only 400,000 tons, and 95% of the products are exported. Previously, everything was exported by sea. To date, all possible resources for the delivery of food have been used, but this is not enough. “Ukrzaliznytsia is doing everything possible to export Ukrainian sunflower oil, but Europe is not ready to accept it, they do not have terminals with the necessary capacity,” said Stepan Kapshuk.
According to him, there are millions of tons of carry-over vegoil stocks in Ukrainian ports. After the Russian attack on Ukraine, the crushing plants stopped, but soon resumed operations, and today 6 of them are working.
“1 tank of vegoil is $ 120,000, which is equivalent to the cost of 4-5 tanks of grain.
If we take the strategic plan in terms of logistics, today we are closed, because, in my opinion, we will not be able to transport more than 150 thousand tons of sunoil by rail. We will not solve the problem without opening additional ways,” Stepan Kapshuk summed up.
