Ukraine exported 56.7 mln tons of grain cargo via the Ukrainian sea corridor
The Ukrainian sea corridor has already transported more than 85 million tons of cargo, of which 56.7 million tons of grain have been successfully exported to ensure global food security.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
It is noted that the Ukrainian maritime corridor continues to demonstrate its efficiency and reliability, even in the most difficult conditions of war.
“Over 3000 vessels have used the corridor during its operation, which is evidence of its strategic importance for global trade,” the USPA emphasizes.
It adds that despite constant shelling, air raids and forced work stoppages, port workers continue to perform their tasks with maximum efficiency, supporting Ukraine’s economy and ensuring communication with the world.
“Each ton of cargo is another step towards a common victory on the economic front and support for global food stability,” the USPA emphasizes.
As a reminder, according to the operational data of January-October 2024, Ukrainian seaports handled 82.1 million tons of cargo, which is almost twice as much as in 2023 (46.1 million tons). Of these, 50.7 million tons were agricultural products.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
