Ukraine and Germany strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector
Ukraine and Germany have agreed to further expand cooperation in the forestry, food, and agricultural sectors.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, the sides discussed exchanging experience in seed production and biomethane, as well as supporting Ukraine in aligning its agricultural sector with EU standards.
During the meeting, several new bilateral initiatives were outlined, including the expansion of the EU Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD) with joint conferences, seminars, training visits, and publications covering seed production, biomethane, irrigation, and dairy processing.
The partnership between Germany’s Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) and Ukraine’s State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection will also be strengthened. This includes information exchange on food safety, involving expertise from the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) and the Friedrich Loeffler Institute (FLI).
