Turkish Tiryaki to operate oil extraction plant in Syria
The Turkish company Tiryaki Agro, through its subsidiary Tiryaki Syria, has signed an agreement with the Syrian Sovereign Fund to manage the Al Alamiya Oil Industry Factory in the city of Hama. This was announced by the company Tiryaki Agro.
According to the agreement, the enterprise is planned to process about 300 thousand tons of soybeans and 100 thousand tons of sunflower seeds annually. Thanks to such capacity, it is expected that products worth about $500 million will be processed annually.
The company notes that the project should contribute to strengthening Syria’s food security, supporting local production and developing agricultural value chains.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Syrian Sovereign Fund Mazen Al-Salhani, the Head of the Fund’s Food and Feed Department Basel Ayoub, the Director of Tiryaki Syria Hashem Shasha, and representatives of relevant institutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tiryaki Agro is one of the leading agricultural operators in Turkey. The company operates in the international markets of grains, oilseeds and agricultural products, and also develops the areas of processing, logistics and storage of agricultural raw materials.
