Turkey sets quota for duty-free import of sunflower seeds
Turkey has set a zero duty rate on the import of 1 million tons of sunflower seeds. A 20% tariff has been set on the import of 400 thousand tons of sunflower oil.
The corresponding decision was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey.
The quota is valid from January 12 to May 31, 2026.
According to the April estimate of the Foreign Agricultural Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (FAS USDA), sunflower seed production in the republic in the MY 2025/26 will be 1.55 million tons, consumption – 1.83 million tons, imports – 400 thousand tons. tons. tons.
