Tunisia tenders to buy about 75,000 metric tons durum wheat, traders say
Tunisia’s state grains agency has issued an international tender to purchase an estimated 75,000 metric tons of durum wheat, European traders said on Thursday.
The origin was optional and the deadline for submission of offers is Nov. 1, they said.
Three consignments of 25,000 tons were sought, with shipment between Nov. 20 and Dec. 25 depending on origin supplied.
A new announcement had been expected after Tunisia made no purchase in its previous tender for 75,000 tons of durum on Tuesday.
The traders said the purchase would be paid for by local Tunisian finance. Finance for several tenders in recent months has been provided by the World Bank and other agencies assisting Tunisia with its economic difficulties.
