The second stage of agricultural land reform has started in Ukraine
The second phase of agricultural land reform in Ukraine started on January 1, 2024. From now on, not only individuals but also legal entities will be able to purchase farmland.
Ukrainian companies are allowed to buy no more than 10 thousand hectares.
The law prohibits foreigners from buying land in Ukraine.
In December, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, responding to a petition, asked Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to consider postponing the increase in the area of land that can be purchased.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered draft law No. 10366 on postponing the new stage of land reform for a year – until January 1, 2025.
