The harvest in Kazakhstan is progressing at a faster pace than last year

As of September 9, Kazakhstan had harvested grain crops from 9.6 mln ha, or 61.6% of the planned area. A total of 13.5 mln tons of grain has been collected, with an average yield of 1.41 t/ha, according to the government. This year’s harvest is progressing significantly faster than at the same time in 2025.

Licensed grain-receiving facilities have already received 2.83 mln tons of grain, compared with 552.7 thsd tons at the same time last year. Thus, grain deliveries to elevators and other receiving facilities have increased more than fivefold year-on-year.

Quality indicators for the new wheat crop remain high. Laboratory tests showed that 93% of the soft wheat received by grain facilities is food-grade.

Third-class wheat accounts for 75% of the food-grade wheat received, while fourth-class wheat makes up 18%. Fifth-class and off-grade wheat account for 7%. Gluten content above 28% was recorded in 51% of the tested soft wheat.

The high share of food-grade wheat provides favorable conditions for supplying the domestic market and supporting Kazakhstan’s grain exports. Gluten content of 25–27% was recorded in 23.6% of tested wheat, while another 25.4% had gluten content of 23–24%.
