Soybean imports to China have increased by 5.3% in physical terms
According to SunSirs, China’s national commodity market tracking system, soybean imports into China in September 2025 totaled 12.869 million tons, up 4.8% month-on-month and 13.2% year-on-year.
Since the beginning of the year, China has imported a total of 86.18 million tons of soybeans, up 5.3% year-on-year; imports totaled $38.32 billion, down 7.9% from a year earlier.
A shift in key suppliers had a positive impact on the monetary value of purchased commodities. The average purchase price was $444.65 per ton, down 12.5% from a year earlier.
It was previously reported that soybean meal prices continue to decline in China; over the past week, domestic prices for this key processed product have fallen by more than 2%, and soybean reserves in the country have reached a record high of 6.8 million tons.
