Soybean harvest is 86% complete in Argentina
The soybean harvest reached 86% in Argentina through May 29. According to the Buenos Aires Cereals Exchange, work advanced 8% since the week earlier.
The surface is estimated at 17.3 mln hectares. Last year, the country sowed 16.2 mln hectares. The country’s crop is projected at 50.5 mln tons.
In absolute numbers, 44.882 mln tons have already been reaped in 14.582 mln hectares. The area to be reaped is 16.962 mln hectares.
Crop conditions are divided into good (22%), fair (48%) and poor (30%), against 25%, 47% and 28%, respectively, the week earlier. In the same period last year, the figures were 16%, 58% and 26%.
Forecast maps continue to point to a period of little or no moisture over Argentina’s main producing provinces between June 2 and 8, which should once again allow for good harvest progress.
In the period between June 9 and 15, moisture increases a little in some provinces but without excesses.
