Situation on the Ukrainian sunflower market is becoming increasingly tense
Over the week of October 10–17, sunseed prices rose by UAH 1,000 to UAH 27,500/mt ($658.07/t).
Crushers’ sunflower seed demand is climbing faster than supply, pushing bids up. Harvest pace is 13% behind last year and yield stays below 2 mt/ha, so the bearish crop scenario is getting more likely. Crushers are stockpiling oilseeds they can buy/crush to reduce unloading risks.
Farmers keep holding for higher prices. This is supportive for sunoil in November and January. However, it is indirect support.
