Share of processed products in Ukraine’s agricultural exports will increase to 25% this year

Ukraine will increase the share of processed products in its agricultural exports by 2025.
This forecast was made by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitaliy Koval in an interview with Forbes.Ukraine.
He noted that in 2024, this share was only 20%, while processing dominated EU exports.
“As a result, we ended 2024 with an average cost of $315 per ton of exported agricultural products, while in Italy this figure is $2670, in Poland – $1560,” the Minister said.
Vitaliy Koval noted that it takes 12-18 months to launch the plant. This year, several modern processing facilities are to be launched in Ukraine.
“I think that by the end of the year we will be able to increase this figure by 5 percentage points to 25%,” he predicted.
The Minister added that the strategic goal is to reach 50% of exports of value-added products. This will take decades to achieve.
