Iran’s supreme leader agrees to talks with US
The Israeli newspaper Ynet reported that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi sent a secret message to Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff: “We have received the consent and blessing of [Supreme Leader Ali] Mojtaba.”
The newspaper notes that after Trump announced talks that could lead to a deal, Iran quickly denied it. But a phone call between the Iranian foreign minister and Witkoff, which included Kushner, paints a different picture.
The Iranian official confirmed that Khamenei Jr. had taken the place of his murdered father, and made it clear that the heir “approved of ending this story as soon as possible if our conditions are met.”
At the same time, the newspaper notes that Israel remained outside the negotiations and learned about their existence by chance.
