Sowing has started in 17 regions of Ukraine
As of March 24, Ukraine has sown 180,113 thsd ha with spring grain and leguminous crops, which is 3% of the forecast. Sowing has started in 17 regions, and sugar beets are already being sown in Volyn and Rivne regions. Currently, 0.6 thsd ha have been sown with this crop.
This is evidenced by data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.
According to operational statistics, during the last week alone, farmers sowed 126,76 thsd ha. At the same time, the current indicators are 28% lower than last year’s pace, when 250,4 thsd ha were sown on the same date.
By crop, the following areas have been sown so far:
Barley – 86.1 thsd ha (11.4% of the plan),
Peas – 51.2 thsd ha (19%),
Wheat – 20.5 thsd ha (11%),
Oats – 20.8 thsd ha (15%).
The following are the leaders in terms of sowing rates:
Odesa region – 39 thsd ha,
Mykolaiv region – 32.3 thsd ha,
Rivne region – 20.8 thsd ha,
Volyn region – 17.2 thsd ha,
Tenopil region – 15.6 thsd ha.
