Serbia forecasts one of its best wheat harvests in a decade
Serbia is expected to harvest 3.845 mln tons of wheat in 2026, up 4.5% from the previous year. According to the country’s Statistical Office, the harvested area will total 652.9 thsd ha, while the average yield is projected at 5.9 t/ha.
Compared with the 2016–2025 ten-year average, Serbia’s wheat production is expected to increase by 28%. The forecast reflects the continued recovery of the country’s grain sector and favorable growing conditions.
The larger harvest is expected to strengthen Serbia’s export potential and increase wheat supplies from the Danube region during the 2026/27 season.
