Saudi Arabia announces a tender for the purchase of 600 thsd tons of wheat

The Saudi Food Security Authority (GFSA) has announced an international tender for the import of 595 thsd tonnes of wheat. Under the terms of the tender, the importer plans to purchase 10 batches of wheat with a protein content of 12.5%, each with a volume of 60 thsd tonnes. Deliveries will be made to the ports of Jeddah, Dammam, Yanbu and Jizan in the period from May 1 to July 15.
The new tender confirms the strong demand for wheat from Saudi Arabia, which remains one of the key importers of the grain on the global market.
As a reminder, at the previous tender on December 16, 2024, Saudi Arabia purchased 804 thsd tonnes of wheat at the price of $262.52 to $280 per tonne C&F. These shipments are scheduled to be delivered from February to March 2025.
