China has opened its market to imports of Ukrainian peas
China, based on the results of the audit, has opened its market for the import of Ukrainian peas, which creates new opportunities for Ukrainian farmers and expands Ukraine’s export presence in one of the largest world food markets.
This is stated in a statement by the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
The need for the audit was stipulated by the requirements of the Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Peas from Ukraine to China. Following the review of technical and video materials by the Chinese side, Ukraine was allowed to export peas to China.
Currently, the General Administration of Customs of China has registered two Ukrainian enterprises for the storage and processing of peas that participated in the audit and from which peas can be exported from Ukraine to China.
The State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine has included three business entities in the List of enterprises planning to export peas to China, and four entities in the List of enterprises growing peas for export to China.
The State Service for Food and Consumer Protection of Ukraine noted that in order to export Ukrainian peas to China, enterprises engaged in their cultivation, storage, processing and export must meet the requirements of the Roadmap. This document defines the key steps for entering the Chinese market.
