Safrinha Corn 56% Planted in Parana, Brazil

Farmers in Parana have planted 56% of their intended safrinha corn according to the Department of Rural Economics (Deral). The corn is 27% germinating, 73% in vegetative development and rated 100% in good condition, at least for now. Germination and plant populations are reported to be good.
Parana is the second largest safrinha corn producing state in Brazil responsible for approximately 16% of the production. Mato Grosso is the leading safrinha corn producing state in Brazil responsible for approximately 48% of the production.
Deral reported that the first corn crop in Parana is 30% harvested. The corn remaining in the field is 25% filling grain, 75% maturing and rated 9% average and 91% good. Yields of the first corn crop are reported to be variable, but within expectations.
