Russians stole almost 5 million tons of grain from the temporarily occupied territories last year
Russians continue to plunder the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in particular, to take out grain from there. This was reported by the National Resistance Center.
It is noted that in 2023, Russians collected and exported 4.8 million tons of grain from the temporarily occupied territories.
In the temporarily occupied territories, there is a scheme where all farmers have to sell grain to the occupiers at a fixed price several times lower than the market price. After that, the gauleiters resell the grain and take the difference.
Russia steals Ukrainian grain from the temporarily occupied territories and sells it in Europe. This problem should be taken into account in the sanctions mechanism. This opinion was expressed by President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs at a joint press conference with the leaders of Ukraine, Switzerland, and Lithuania following the Grain from Ukraine international forum.
